Shorea wood has a high oil content which makes it very resistant to water and rotting. It is highly resistant to bug infestation, rain, wind, sun and snow. If left untreated it weathers naturally to a beautiful silver gray over period of 1 year. Natural wood color can be maintained longer with seasonal application of teak oil and protectors.
