Umbrella has a heavy-duty crank. Umbrella top has 6 ribs. Fiber glass ribs have molded nylon joints and end tips. Fiberglass patio umbrellas withstand high winds and resistant to harsh weather. Was too small for table and chairs, I ordered the 9ft. which fits perfectly for 42 inch table. Due to the return shipping cost I will keep and use elsewhere.
