It appears to be a perfectly usable rig, but it's not as nice as the manufacturer's photos suggest. The hand-drawn willow braces are neat, but the slats are not as tight and as uniform as they should be. I have a couple of ⅜" popped-out slats on the curved bow and the gaps between the slats are not uniform. As well, the slat wood has the appearance---in the photos---as being a natural, rich teak color. I believe the basswood used is actually quite pale and there is a very reddish stain applied. It just doesn't look as good as the illustrations, which is disappointing, because I intended to store it on a tall rock wall inside my cabin. It will still get used, but will have to live in the garage.

Very good looking item! We auctioned the sled off at a fund raiser and received many comments about how nice it looked. Only concern...it needs to be packaged a little better. The item showed with the box broken and the item had a few scratches on it.

We are quite pleased with the toboggan. Unfortunately, due to our neglect, my husband was pulling our grandson back to our house and the front end has a bit of "shredding" now.
