I assume they are intended to go around the table legs, but because of the design of my tables, that doesn't seem to work. In fact, in attempting to do so, one strap ripped ripped out of the cover fabric. This make me pessimistic about how well the cover will hold up during snow, ice and wind this winter. I will hope for the best!
