I can’t believe it’s March already. After a tiring day at work and I’m still fighting the flu. The whole country is under a cold front where some parts are snowing and some parts flooding. Basically North America is going thru a late winter with temperatures around 30s and 40s. Yet I just picked up my daughter from daycare and heading to our apartment on Collins Avenue on Miami Beach. We’ve heard how amazing the fireworks at Space Needle over the years in Seattle, WA. We wanted to check it out ourselves. Around 11:30pm on December 31, 2012 we start walking towards the Space Needle from Belltown.

Old Naples and Naples Beach During Christmas

Our little trip thru Tamiami Trail ended in Naples where we spent the rest of our Christmas vacation. We are checked in to the Naples Beach Hotel and Golf Club which is situated right near Old Naples on the beach. The weather was a little chilly but we had a great room with the ocean view. Naples beach is one of my favorite beaches. You can see dolphins anytime. Sunsets are incredible. People are very courteous and nice. Everglades City Tamiami Trail

It’s the Saturday before Christmas and we are on our way from Miami Beach to Naples. It’s a cool day in the high sixties. Since we could leave Miami Beach by 10 am we deciced to take the scenic route which is Tamiami Trail route 41. This is called the Old Alligator Alley. You can actually see alligators on the side of the road about 20 miles in.

Hurricane season is almost over in Florida but unfortunate disaster from Hurricane Sandy hit the northern states leaving behind 60 million people effected with at least 100 casualties. During hurricane sandy Florida has some damages in the coastal areas but it really wasn’t bad compared to other states. With this hurricane weather cooled off as a result of the cold front brought from north. Now the days are low eighties and at nights are low sixties.

Hurricane Sandy passsed thru and heading to the northern states. We are left with some trees down and some broken balcony furniture. Today it’s gusty winds and sunshine. And of course as we saw yesterday and today the best surf Miami has seen over the years. Below are pictures from Suuth Point in Miami Beach. We went to the Internet Retailer Conference and Show in Chicago. After a bumpy airplane ride from Miami to Chicago Ohare we arrived at our nice hotel in downtown. It was already like 8 pm and we took a walk downtown. Nba finals were on and all the sports bars were full. I immediately started browsing outdoor furniture on all the bars and restaurants. Polycarbonate chairs show up in all styles

The latest use of polycarbonate as far as I know was the funny and fragile looking suitcases. Major brands like Samsonite have polycarbonate suitcases that are guaranteed not to break. The advantage is polycarbonate is light. It’s so strong that it can’t be broken easily. I don’t have a polycarbonate suitcase but I’m sure people are happy with them. What I’m really interested are the newcomers in the modern furniture industry. Polycarbonate started to show up as furniture. It’s almost that time of the year. Miami Boat Show is starting this week. I had the joy of watching the luxury boats arrive into their show spaces. Trip to Naples

It’s a cool day in Miami with rain in the forecast. So we decided to take a family trip to Naples through the Old Alligator Alley which is now called Tamiami Trail. It’s the old road that drives through the Miccosukkee Indian villages and the Everglades National Park. Overcast weather followed us through to our fist stop at the Oasis Visitor Center which is about 60 miles in to the Everglades. Hot day on the beach? Too much sun? We run for shades. Even in Miami Beach sun worshippers run for shades when the sun is unbearable. But nothing is for free. If you forgot to bring your umbrella to the beach you can rent one for 10 dollars. Just walk up to hotel properties and talk to a cabana boy usually dressed up in white shorts and shirt. Summer is coming to an end and we are slowly moving indoors from our outdoor grounds in our back yard or patio. Chilly nights are here and rains will start soon as we wrap up this summer.
