New Pool Floats for 2013 Season

Daylight savings is in place and its March 13th already. Days are longer and spring is coming in full speed. We come home from work and there is still daylight. What do we see: our backyard and the empty pool? It’s time for getting the pool ready. That takes a weekend. But what else would you need with a swimming pools; pool floats and pool toys. Let’s take a look at some of the new pool floats that we’ll start selling this year.

We have some new items that have entered our large pool floats section.  Aquaria came up with two pool floats made with Aqua Cell. One of them is Marquis which is 70 inches long and 1 ¼ inches thick. The other one is Aquaria Deluxe float which is approximately the same as Marquis but thicker with 1 ¾ inches thickness.  Both floats are very well designed. Colors are bright. Aqua Cell is perfectly buoyant. These two floats are made in the USA.

A new comer to the vinyl dipped pool floats are the new Lazy Waves floats. We currently carry a medium thick at 1 ½ inch thickness and an extra thick at 2 inches.  Lazy Waves pool floats are very soft to the touch almost like a jelly material. This makes relaxation on them very desirable. Pool floats are offered in aquamarine and coral colors. These pool floats are also made in USA. Lazy Waves also offers kids floats that are shaped like sea creatures. These floats are vinyl dipped like the originals.  Check out floating dolphin, seahorse and lobster.

Canvas Pool Floats

Our line up of canvas pool floats remain the same with some color changes.  They are still made in the USA with high quality Sunbrella fabrics. In 2012 our most popular new items were our canvas floats. We have seen lots of sales on Kai pool lounges, Kai Infinity pool lounges and Floating Beanbag lounges.

If we are talking about pool floats our best sellers are always Texas Recreation floats.  This year we have some extra colors and minimal changes in sizes. As always our bestsellers will be Sunsation; Supersoft; Kool Pool Float; Sunray and at last but not the least Ultra  Sunsation. Tropical teal and Metallic Blue are the new colors that will catch attention this summer.

If you own a pool; this is the time to consider our pool floats. Look at all our items that have reviews and you will receive valuable insights from other customers just like you. Also look at our pool floats buying tips section for valuable suggestions.

Wild Dolphin Fins on Miami Beach

I can’t believe it’s March already. After a tiring day at work and I’m still fighting the flu. The whole country is under a cold front where some parts are snowing and some parts flooding. Basically North America is going thru a late winter with temperatures around 30s and 40s. Yet I just picked up my daughter from daycare and heading to our apartment on Collins Avenue on Miami Beach. It’s about 70 F. It’s cold enough not to go to the beach for Miamians. But hey since I’m home early and we have a new born who is almost two weeks old and my two and a half year old needs to run and release energy, I said lets go down to the beach. It’s about 5:30 pm. Sun has already sunk behind the big condominiums leaving the beach with a cool shade. We walked down to the beach and didn’t even take a towel. I had the condo chaise lounges in mind. There are always left over chaise lounges lying around on our beach. This time there were none. Our condo has strap beach chaise lounges. There was a large stack that was locked up. So we had to sit on the sand.

The beach was empty except some joggers north and a guy fishing south of us. Suddenly I saw a few people pointing the water and there they were a big pack of dolphins. They were very close to the shore. You could see many fins coming up. There were a few that jumped off the water but it’s hard to catch these. We were very excited. I texted a few people while trying to take pictures and video at the same time. We sat on the beach about 45 minutes and the dolphins traveled from south of us to north of us and were very playful and looked like they were enjoying something.

New Year’s Eve at the Space Needle

Fireworks at Space Needle
New Year’s Eve 2013 Firewoks

We’ve heard how amazing the fireworks at Space Needle over the years in Seattle, WA. We wanted to check it out ourselves. Around 11:30pm on December 31, 2012 we start walking towards the Space Needle from Belltown.

Everybody was in a great mood. People had their beach chairs lined up, having drinks already celebrating despite the cold weather. Next year, we should be more prepared by bringing our outdoor chairs. As we approach the Space Needle, you could feel the energy rising. Families, couples and everybody else were trying to get the best spot to watch the fireworks, setting up their tripods and cameras. Police closed the roads around the Needle, so that more people can watch the show safely. The fireworks show was about 10 minutes, we were very cold at the time; however it was well worth the wait.

And it’s 11:59PM… Happy New Year from Seattle, WA!

Above is the video of the countdown and the fireworks that welcomed 2013.

Old Naples and Naples Beach During Christmas

Our little trip thru Tamiami Trail ended in Naples where we spent the rest of our Christmas vacation. We are checked in to the Naples Beach Hotel and Golf Club which is situated right near Old Naples on the beach. The weather was a little chilly but we had a great room with the ocean view. Naples beach is one of my favorite beaches. You can see dolphins anytime. Sunsets are incredible. People are very courteous and nice. So we were very happy with our hotel and our room.

We immediately left our luggage and decided to take a walk on the beach. Our hotel is right on the beach and the water sports center was right in front of us. They had water bicycles, towable tubes, kayaks, canoes,  pool floats, beach chaise lounges and beach umbrellas. Since it was a little chilly nobody was in the water. So we decided we will do the full beach next day. It was in the afternoon with about two hours to sunset. We walked north on the beach to a nearby park. We saw a snowman made out of sand. It was a little bit windy and chilly but with the sun we managed to keep our warmth. On the way back we decided to sit in front of our hotel and watch the sunset. As you can see in the pictures below the sunsets are amazing. People from all over the US and world come to Naples to watch this sunset. Our hotel had a bar that right on the beach where people gather to watch and drink. Every night right after the sun goes down people cheer and celebrate. We joined the fun.

Old Naples was very nicely decorated for Christmas. Streets were all lit up. Fifth Avenue had snowmans, Santa, reindeers and you name it. There was lots of people walking, enjoying the vacation and the this time of the year. We could tell not everybody was like us coming from Miami. Most people were from the north.

The next morning I took a long walk to the south of the beach towards Naples Pier. It was about 7 am in the morning. The water of Gulf of Mexico was like a mirror. It was flat with no waves or winds whatsoever. Sub tropical birds were enjoying a beautiful morning. Some early birds like me were shelling or jogging. I walked about 5 miles south and turned back. I was walking in the water and my feet were enjoying the cool waters of the gulf. But after so many miles my feet started hurting so I decided to turn back and walk to the hotel. I took pictures of some nice shells, birds, palm trees, beautiful luxury houses, parked catamaran, canoes and all the nice things Naples beach has to offer. I could see people sitting on their patio furniture enjoying the morning like I was doing. During my walk, every person I passed by said hello. This never happens in Miami. Naples is a much warmer town. Everybody greets each other in the morning. If we ever move to Naples I have to get used to this.

New Florida Restaurant Chair

Hurricane season is almost over in Florida but unfortunate disaster from Hurricane Sandy hit the northern states leaving behind 60 million people effected with at least 100 casualties. During hurricane sandy Florida has some damages in the coastal areas but it really wasn’t bad compared to other states. With this hurricane weather cooled off as a result of the cold front brought from north. Now the days are low eighties and at nights are low sixties.

The weather cooling off is a sign of the Florida tourist season. Snow birds will soon start flying down and filling hotels and apartments in Miami and South Florida. You can easily tell by the traffic congestion that really do not exist in any other time of the year in certain areas.  With all the tourists coming down to Florida, hotels and restaurants start getting ready for the busy season. Some hotels are completely changing their furniture and some of them are redesigning current areas. Restaurants are looking for better comfortable and eye catching furniture.

Just in time for the busy season we bring out the Florida chair. This is the armless side chair which is a complement to the Ibiza chair. Florida restaurant chairs are stackable. They are available in three colors; white, coffee brown and charcoal gray. Florida chair is a woven looking 100% polypropylene chair. This chair is great in all outdoor applications. If you look at the wickerlook collection, you will see the four chairs offered are Verona, Capri, Ibiza and Florida. All these chairs are made for commercial use. They offer the woven look without the hassle of metal and aluminum and also obviously without the problems of unraveling wicker.

We are very excited to offer the Florida chair to the hospitality industry. Hopefully by this time next year this chair will be all over the country in the best hotels and restaurants.
